Farmer protests continue in many countries around the world. In Hungary, farmers protested near the town of Zahony on the Ukrainian border. Protesting the European Commission’s decision to exempt products produced in Ukraine from customs duty for another year, farmers blocked the road to the border.
Farmers in Hungary and Poland held protests to protest the import of cheap agricultural and livestock products from Ukraine.
At the protest organized by the Hungarian farmers’ union MAGOSZ, demonstrators carried banners such as “Brussels betrayed us”, “We don’t want Ukrainian grain”, “The Green Deal is suicide” and “OK, let’s help Ukraine, but not by destroying EU agriculture”.
THEY CLOSED THE UKRAINE BORDER TO TRAFFIC!
Along with Hungarian farmers, Polish farmers also held protests against the EU’s Ukraine and agricultural policies today.
In demonstrations near the Hrebenne, Dorohusk and Medyka border gates on Poland’s border with Ukraine, farmers caused traffic to be stopped or seriously disrupted.
It was learned that tractors, many of which were decorated with Polish flags, carried out road closures at 256 points across the country.
