Born on January 1, 2024 in Saint-Malo, a little boy unwittingly made people talk about him because of his atypical first name. His parents opted for a unique spelling, which was the subject of mockery and insults on social networks.

It should have been a happy event, the birth of their third child, and yet a shadow came to spoil their joy. Originally from Saint-Malo, Stessy Gardrinier and Johnny Perchot welcomed their little boy on the night of January 1, 2024. The first of their tribe which was until then made up of two little girls, 6 and 3 years old, who are respectively named Kayla and Kenzianne. A fairy tale like other families can experience when a newborn arrives, except that the young parents quickly became disillusioned. And for good reason, given that their son is the first baby born in 2024 in Saint-Malo, our colleagues at West FrankThey dedicated an article to him. The couple happily joined in and talked about the birth of their child as well as the first name they chose for him.

This is where things will go wrong. After its publication, the press article was shared and commented on en masse on social networks. The reason ? The choice of the child’s first name is anything but classic. The parents set their sights on a variation of the male name Cameron: they named their son Kaymronne. If you have a keen eye, you will realize that this first name begins with the letter K like the first names of the couple’s two daughters. This is obviously not a coincidence. The parents voluntarily transformed the spelling of the first name to “that he follows in the lineage of their two other daughters”, they confided to BFMTV.

A first name with a particular spelling which has not gone unnoticed by Internet users. Most did not mince their words and openly criticized and mocked the parents’ choice. Some have called them “oxen” and accused them of “mistreatment” towards their son. “We were told that it was the name of a dog, a dog and so on… It’s very heavy, we should be happy right now and in fact everyone is making fun of us”, stressed Kaymronne’s mother to BFMTV, who is even considering filing a complaint. However, if we refer to the law, Stessy Gardrinier and Johnny Perchot are within their rights. They are free to choose the first name(s) of their son, as long as they are not contrary. “in the interests of the child (example: a ridiculous or rude first name”), specifies the site service-public.fr.
