Israel has called for duty to its reserve soldiers, including fighter pilots, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operators and air defense system experts, after the attack launched on Gaza under the blockade in response to rockets fired from Lebanon.
According to the news published in the Israeli media, Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi held a meeting with the security authorities to assess the situation.
After the meeting he attended, Halevi instructed that many reserve soldiers be called to duty.
It was reported that most of the reserve soldiers who were asked to surrender to their units were air defense system experts, fighter pilots and UAV operators.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant also instructed to increase security measures throughout the country after meeting with the Israeli Internal Security Organization Shin-Bet (Shabak), Foreign Intelligence Agency Mosssad and the army command.
It was noted that Gallant was briefed on the investigation into the shooting that killed two Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank.
