They ask for 5 years in prison for two accused

The Prosecutor’s Office requests in its provisional conclusions 5 years in prison for two accused of illegally broadcasting football matches, movies and other content on five websites between 2011 and 2018 over which they did not have rights, an activity with which they obtained advertising revenue from more than one million euros.

The Provincial Court of Madrid has scheduled the trial for this cause for next Wednesday and in it JMTG and IGG will sit on the bench, for which the Public Ministry requests said penalty by accusing them of a continued crime against intellectual property.

According to the prosecutor’s brief, the events date back to 2011, when the defendants, of Spanish nationality, began to manage several web pages that provided protected content from the National Professional Soccer League (LNFP), series, movies and video game.

It adds that through the link www.rinconrojadirecta.com football matches could be viewed, a page with which they obtained between 2013 and 2018 advertising revenue of 677,274 euros.

Another link, www.portalXD.com, offered the possibility of sharing and downloading all kinds of content such as games, books, music and movies for free, obtaining between August 2011 and May 2015 advertising revenue of 15,514 euros.

In addition, there were three other web pages, www.epubgratis.tv, www.rinconpelículas.com and www.torrentsdvdrip.com, which also allowed the download of books, movies, series and music, always according to the Prosecutor’s Office, which figures the total income pr part of those accused for their illegal activity in 1,197,264 euros.

The Prosecutor’s Office asks, in addition to the penalty cited for the two defendants, a fine of 7,500 euros and that they compensate the LNFP and the film, video game and music companies and producers, in the amount determined by the court for the damages caused.
