All the dead have now been identified and their relatives notified, according to the Uvalde Police. Among the victims were 19 children aged ten who went to fourth grade.
Two of the victims were adults. The class teacher Eva Mireles44, had taught for 17 years and is described by relatives as a happy and active person who liked cycling and hiking in his spare time, writes Washington Post.
Mireles had played a crucial role for a former student who has Down syndrome. The student’s parent describes Eva Mireles:
“She was a wonderful person and an affectionate teacher. She believed in Gabby and did everything in her power to teach her as you see below. There are no words.” writes the now 23-year-old woman’s mother Audrey Garcia in a post on Twitter.

Ten-year-old Xavier Lopez is also one of the victims. His mother Felicha Martinez describes him as a boy full of life. Xavier was “funny, never serious and his smile” says the mother whose voice is missing, but continues: “I will never forget that smile. It could gas up anyone’s, “says Felicha Martinez Washington Post.
Amerie Jo Garza, also ten years old, has been identified by his father Angel Garza as one of the victims. In a post on Facebook, the father writes: “Thank you all for your prayers and your help in finding my darling. She has been found. My little darling is now flying high up among the angels. Do not take a second for granted. Hug your family. Tell them you love them. I love you Amerie Jo. Watch over your little brother for me “, writes the father, reports CNN.
Jose Flores, like his classmates, was ten years old. Jose loved to play basketball, his uncle Christopher Salazar tells Washington Post. “He was a very happy young boy. He loved both his parents … and loved to laugh and have fun, ”says Salazar Washington Post. Jose Flores was the older brother of two siblings and loved going to school. On Tuesday, just hours before he was murdered, Jose Flores had received an honorary award.
Another girl who fell victim to the school massacre was Eliahna Garcia, 10. The girl’s close relative Siria Arizmemdi describes the girl as “happy and outgoing” and tells CBC that she loved to dance, play sports and spend time with the family.
