A 33-year-old man was arrested during the night of Thursday on suspicion of having tried to set fire to a pub in Norrbotten county with petrol.
The man was kicked out of the pub and came back a while later.
– He must have gone to the grocery store and bought a lot of gasoline, which he then poured out in front of the entrance to the pub. He then tried to light the petrol on fire but strangely enough failed, says Mathias Borin, commander at police region North.
Several people witnessed the incident and at 00.51 the police were alerted, who managed to arrest the man who is said to have violently resisted the operation.
– We will start an investigation regarding arson or attempted arson as well as violent resistance to an official, says Mathias Borin.
