The United Nations refugee agency said in a statement today that the number of people who fled Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian occupation has reached 2.1-2.2 million people.
During a visit to Stockholm, Filippo Grandi, the senior representative of the United Nations for Refugees, did not talk about which countries the refugees will go to, but said “now is the time to try to help at the border”.
Grandi said that Moldova, which is in the EU, is particularly vulnerable in this crisis.
