He was arrested on Thursday by the open police, and Säpo then took over the investigation.
The man is suspected of gross data breach and gross unauthorized position with secret information. The latter criminal classification means that the security of the kingdom can be damaged if secret information is handled impermissibly. The difference with espionage is that the aim is not to help any foreign power.
Säpo has not commented on the matter, strict preliminary investigation secrecy prevails, according to the press service.
