It is the most effective method to avoid the invasion of this little beast.
While temperatures are more lenient, these small animals are back and have already been seen in many departments. A word of advice, do not wait until you are invaded to deal with the problem. Because even if they are not dangerous, it is never very pleasant to come face to face with this kind of creature, especially, when they arrive in number. Not to mention that they reproduce at a crazy speed in the spring and can lay 20 to 80 eggs. We can therefore be quickly invaded, and these animals are difficult to keep away.
From the end of winter, you can start watching for the return of this bugger, brown-gray-colored. It is not uncommon to see it gradually reappears in the gardens of many regions in February. You will find it mainly on the plants it feeds. You will easily recognize it with its marbled brown color and its fairly large size between 12 and 17mm.
It is important to identify your presence to keep it away from your garden because it can be devastating for your plantations, but also for market gardeners. In humans and domestic animals, even if these little animals do not bite and do not kill, they can cause allergies when they are in number and they trigger their defense mechanism when they feel in danger (easily Recognizable with the foul smell released).
To date, there is no effective insecticide sold in the trade, but we have a secret to scare them from your garden and your home. It lies in the use of an ingredient that we all have in our kitchen: garlic. This grandmother’s remedy is certainly the most effective in avoiding the invasion of diabolical bugs.
But beware, the trick does not consist in putting cloves of garlic at every corner of your house and at the foot of your plantations. We will have to prepare a decoction or mix powdered garlic with water. Here are three ways to prepare the garlic to use it against these critters:
- Crush some garlic cloves in water;
- Mix 4 teaspoons of powdered garlic in 400ml of water;
- Infuse in hot water a few cloves of garlic cut into pieces.
Then transfer your mixture to a vaporizer and spray the preparation to the various places you want to protect. The smell of garlic will scare away the bedbugs. Do not hesitate to renew the operation regularly for more efficiency.
If you bother you, you can replace the garlic with black soap or neem or mint essential oil. This will also scare out unwanted hosts.
