Two Frenchmen are members of Europe’s most wanted criminals today. The Europol agency maintains a site listing these fugitives. Here is the portrait of the two tricolor bandits.

Europol, a European criminal police agency, is holding a site since 2016 which lists the most wanted criminals of the Old Continent. In this list, there are currently two French people. They were judged by justice in their absence, but they are still nowhere to be found.

Karim Ouali and Farid Toloun: here are the names of these two French fugitives. The first named was accused of the murder of Jean Meyer at Basel-Mulhouse airport in 2011. This air traffic controller was killed with an Amerindian ax under accusations of racism. The criminal confessed his crime in a manuscript. Karim Ouali has since lived free in Hong Kong with which France does not have an extradition agreement. He was spotted thanks to the presence of his profile on a dating site. The Mulhouse prosecutor told the Figaro his hope of obtaining “a conviction in absentia, in order to increase the chances that Karim Ouali can answer for his actions”.

Farid Toloun is a bandit from Lyon. He is wanted for murder and drug trafficking. He has been known to the police since the 1990s. Already incarcerated, he was sentenced in 2010 to 24 years in prison for being the shooter in a shooting that killed a member of a rival gang. He has been on the run since this settling of accounts which took place in 2005. He is recognizable by his two scars on his face: one is across his forehead and the other is a cut on his right cheek.
