“Oh how wonderful,” says Utrecht Trantra teacher Wendy Doeleman, laughing when she watches the fragment. She recognizes tantra “partly yes, partly not” in the dance. “Working with energy, with your body, asking for consent. That is tantra. But there is also a kind of ‘must’ going on here. Anne has to surrender to Walter. Whereas, in tantra you can let go. If I tell my clients during a workshop: ‘you have to surrender’, yes that doesn’t work.”
