For some they are hells, for others it is a kind of running gag: We are talking about the one now 14 years of waiting time for The Winds of Winterthe sixth part of George RR Martin’s successful fantasy novel series the song of ice and fire. While their series adaptation Game of Thrones has long ended, the fans, which are thirsting after the literary continuation, continue to look into nothing and are even sacrificed by the Creator himself.
Certainly some have already put up theories in their despair, which might stop the bestselling authors Martin: a writing block? A full schedule? Or is he possibly in a misery-like situation in which every tapped word is checked for suitability by a crazy ex-medical nurse?
What it is, the past shows that hope for The Winds of Winter is not necessarily hopeless. Because in fact there were already a few book continuations that still used significantly more waiting time than the sixth Game of Thrones novel. We have listed a few examples here:
These literary sequels took much longer than The Winds of Winter
So if you had already resigned yourself, you probably never be able to hold the sequel sequel by George RR Martin in your hands, you may not be deleted yet. Few had expected the sequels mentioned above, some of them only appeared after several decades. 14 years of waiting seem ridiculous.
However, one also has to say that the cry for all these sequels was probably not as loud as that according to Game of Thrones, part 6. But maybe Martin will soon hear his fansafter all, he did not completely stop writing. And if winter is approaching, why not The Winds of Winter?
