PC manufacturers have the unfortunate manner of installing a lot of more or less useful software with Windows. You have every interest in removing them to gain place and speed.
If your computer storage is full, your computer is long to start or software slowly start, it may be the sign that it is cluttered by too many software. Indeed, most new computers are delivered with many preinstalled applications, often unnecessary, which occupy space and monopolize resources.
These software, called “bloatware”, can thus considerably slow down your device. A good habit to adopt as soon as a new computer is purchased, or after resetting the system to the factory state, is to clean up these applications. But which can be eliminated without risk for the proper functioning of its PC?
First, almost all new computers come with preinstalled antivirus programs, which are often test versions which then require a paid subscription. Windows incorporates a native safety tool, Microsoft Defender, which already offers excellent protection. Same thing for preinstalled image editing apps: Windows has a viewer (photos) and a publisher (paint) that largely cover the basic needs. And for further retouching, a lot of free software is available on the internet.
These two types of software can therefore be deleted without fear and without remorse. It also happens that some manufacturers incorporate various games (solitary, ladies), messaging (WhatsApp, Telegram) or social networks (Linkedin, Facebook, Tittok). Same sentence, these programs can be uninstalled without hesitation and without any risk for the operation of your computer. And you can also reinstall them very easily yourself if necessary, by downloading them from the Microsoft Store or the site of their publisher.
To remove these useless and bulky applications, it’s very simple. Open the menu To start up of Windows and go to Settings, Then in the section Applications and finally Installed applications. You will find the full list of programs and software installed on your computer. For each of them, you can click on the three small points located to the right of their name to access the action Uninstall.
And if you have a doubt about the usefulness of one of the applications present, such as “Microsoft Visual C ++” (if you see this one, keep it), do a search on the Internet from its name to discover what it is all about. Be reassured, most of the components really essential to the operation of your PC are not displayed or not uninstallable.
Note that to carry out a deep cleaning and properly delete these applications, it is also possible to use third -party applications specialized in this task: Revo Uninstaller (a reference in the matter), Uninstalr (light and powerful), the well -known Ccleaner, or even Bulk Crap Uninstall, the latter classifying software with a color code, making it easier to identify those that seem doubtful.
Finally, to speed up your computer starting, you can also choose which programs automatically start when opening Windows. To do this, open the Parametersgo to the section Applications then in Startup. In the list that appears, simply click on the switch to the right of the names of the applications that you do not need permanently, like your Internet browser, like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, and leave the ones that must run in background tasks, such as OneDrive.
