A leading specialist in mini PCs, Beelink innovates with models equipped with an internet power supply, but also with speakers and microphones. Very appreciable little extras that make all the difference!
We have been saying it for months: the mini PC market is booming. And it is in this area that we note the most interesting advances. First with the integration of increasingly powerful processors (AMD Ryzen 7xxx and 8xxx series, 14th generation Intel Core and Core Ultra), which make these miniature computers as powerful as large classic towers. Then, by the introduction of original functions that make them more and more practical.
And in this new race for innovation, Beelink seems to have taken a small lead over its competitors. Of course, the Chinese manufacturer has been present in the mini PC sector for many years, which gives it a great deal of experience in the field. And it has a wide range of good quality models, as we have seen during our various tests (see our articles on the GTR7, the SER6 Max or the excellent SER8).
But while continuing to ramp up with ever-efficient processors, Beelink has taken care of the practical aspects in its new models, filling traditional gaps in miniature computers. Thus, instead of using an external power adapter like those found on laptops, the EQi12, EQR6 and GTi14 Ultra feature a true integrated power supply, like Apple’s Mac mini. No more power supplies lying around on your desk or floor: simply plug a standard cord directly into the back of the computer, just like on a tower! And these are not cheap systems because, despite the reduced interior space, these power supplies deliver power ranging from 85 to 145 W.
New Beelink mini PCs: built-in speakers and microphone
Better yet, the GTi14 Ultrawhich features a powerful Intel Core UItra 7 155H processor with an NPU to accelerate AI functions, has the luxury of integrating two speakers and a microphone. So there’s no need to plug in speakers or a microphone: everything is provided in the computer to capture and broadcast sound, just like on a laptop. Of course, given its size, you shouldn’t expect hi-fi quality, or even the famous “immersive sound” that all manufacturers try to sell us in their technical sheets and advertisements – a great joke, when you think about it… – but it’s more than enough to watch videos or make video calls – and that’s all we really ask for. Not to mention that this omnidirectional microphone is associated with a DSP (an audio signal processing processor) capable of eliminating ambient noise in real time for conversations without interference.
And while it’s not the first mini PC to offer it, the GTi14 Ultra also has a fingerprint sensor, to secure access to Windows and files without having to enter a password or PIN code. Why deprive yourself? Finally, like the SER8, all these models benefit from a particularly quiet cooling system, promising a maximum noise level of only 32 dBA, well below the volume of a conversation. Enough to work in peace, without hearing a noisy fan.
Of course, these little new features might seem like accessories at first glance. But they all contribute to making these miniature computers even more practical in everyday life. We can only hope that they will become more widespread and that other manufacturers will follow Beelink’s example to make mini PCs even more complete, more comfortable and more irresistible.
