The trade unions FNV and CNV are firmly behind the eight thousand strikers from social work companies. Kitty Jong, vice-chairman of the FNV: “Why do ordinary civil servants and people with an occupational disability not? It sometimes makes me very cynical. Do they sometimes think: they don’t speak up, they don’t go on strike? are they lucky enough to have something? Is that how they look at it? Well, today I think we’re showing that these people don’t give up. That they’re taking action and they’re willing to keep taking action . We just keep going!”
These employees with an occupational disability went on strike in Utrecht today: ‘Everyone gets an extra wage, we don’t get anything’
