These diseases have exploded after the pandemic Pay attention to

It was a matter of curiosity what kind of changes Covid-19 caused in the usual symptoms of other viruses, bacteria and cancer patients, and even in the course of the disease. Expressing that these are slowly starting to become evident, chest diseases specialist Prof. Dr. Şevket Özkaya pointed out that there has been an increase in viral diseases, especially non-Covid-19.

“CAUTION MUST BE TAKEN”

First of all, Prof. gave the information that a significant increase was seen in shingles patients caused by herpes viruses. Dr. Şevket Özkaya recommended that although shingles is a mildly symptomatic disease, precautions should be taken against the discomforts we may encounter due to other viruses that may appear in the coming days. Özkaya said, “We need to pay attention to the distance and hygiene rules not only for Covid-19, but also for all viral and infectious diseases.”

“Measles is 5-6 times more contagious than CORONAVIRUS”

Continuing his words by mentioning that measles is one of the childhood diseases that our people know best, Özkaya said, “Although it is rare, it can be fatal, especially in children under the age of 1, due to brain, heart and/or lung complications.” Noting that measles, which is mostly seen in childhood, is 5-6 times more contagious than coronavirus, Prof. Dr. According to Özkaya, vaccination is one of the leading measures that can be taken for measles, which has recently turned into an epidemic in Turkey and many cases have been announced. When not vaccinated, it can easily be transmitted to pregnant women and people with low immunity and cause risky situations.

ATTENTION TO THESE SYMPTOMS!

Özkaya reminded that measles, which manifests itself with high fever and weakness, is transmitted by inhaling droplets spread during coughing, sneezing or speaking of infected people or by contacting the objects used by these people. Noting that although there is no definitive treatment method for measles, treatments for some symptomatic complaints can be applied, Özkaya said, “Although the numbers increase, we do not expect a deadly epidemic that will cause our people to panic. Measles is the most well-known issue in our country and the Ministry of Health is the most sensitive issue both in vaccination and especially in the follow-up of childhood viral diseases. “Despite the increase in measles cases, there is no life-threatening picture, we just recommend that our people pay attention to a controlled social life because it causes loss of work force,” he said.
