Loved by some, hated by others. In just over a week, it’s time for the popular reality show Paradise Hotel to make a comeback on Swedish television. And there will also be a comeback for presenter Rebecca Stella.

The program is back in its original form after a break of a couple of years. The fall 2021 season was stopped after reports of sexual abuse against two of the participants during filming. A preliminary investigation was launched, but was later dropped. The production was criticized for not going in and canceling.
Do not want to comment on the scandal
Rebecca Stella was not a host for the season in question, and out of respect for those involved, she does not want to comment. However, she is one hundred percent sure that something like this will not happen in the Paradise Hotel again.
I have had long discussions with the production, and I know what we are doing going forward. Consent is extremely important for everyone involved, she says.
The requirements for consent
When it comes to the intimacy that Paradise Hotel is known for, there are now new rules for consent.
– It was a requirement to continue, says Rebecca Stella.
When it starts to heat up, the production calls, and all participants need to give their approval. Then they can continue to “hold on”, according to Rebecca Stella.
After the scandal-ridden season three years ago, a “kinder” version of the program was produced, which was called “Paradise”. But it left many viewers disappointed, and was accused of being boring. That niceness, or dullness, is gone now.
It is well produced, and an extremely fun game. You get to see everything. Love, drama, betrayal and friendships. Everything is offered in a lovely package, says Rebecca Stella.
Maybe will come back
Rebecca Stella thinks it feels like finding home now that both she and Paradise Hotel are making a comeback. She is happy to be back, and the fans are happy to see her in the box again. And to their delight, it sounds like she might consider coming back again – if there are more seasons.
