The preconfigured settings in Throne and Liberty can create obstacles in the game. We’ll show you which settings you should change to improve your gaming experience.
Which settings you should change: The following preset configurations are not entirely in the interests of players and could make your gaming experience a little worse:
complicated key assignments
automatic movements are generally deactivated
Falling is set
Lock-on is deactivated
With our recommendations you can improve your gaming experience. You can use the table of contents to jump to the points that interest you.
This is how you can change the settings
Blocking, attacks and abilities
Block: Blocking defaults to Q, which can be a bit of a hindrance as you have to keep pressing the key and are therefore restricted in your movement. Sets blocking under “Keyboard Shortcuts,” then “Character” to another key. We recommend using mouse buttons such as mouse 3, 4 or 5.
Queue skills: Allows you to queue your cast abilities so that they are cast one after the other. Attacks for which there is currently no mana will be cast as soon as there is enough available again. Go to “Gameplay” and then “Controls”.
Skill bar: This is initially set suboptimally. You will find it difficult to reach the 9 or 0 keys comfortably during combat. Go to “Keyboard Shortcuts” and then edit Quick Slots 1 to 10. You can put the most powerful five of your skills on numbers 1 to 5 and the rest can be combined with another key, e.g. B.: For spell number 7 you press [Shift] + [2].
Lock on: The lock-on function is also helpful. It’s also located under “Gameplay” and then “Controls” then “Targeted abilities turn on the current target.” This allows you to walk around during your AOE attack.
Lock-on afterwards: After an enemy dies, the next one is automatically targeted. You can set this under “Gameplay”, “Goal”. To do this, simply activate “Autom. Aiming at the nearest enemy when attacking without a target.
(Automatic) movements
Under “Gameplay”, then “Controls” you should activate the following settings:
Auto move within range to attack a target: If you are out of range of an attack, your character automatically runs towards the opponent and casts the ability or attack.
Auto move within range for assistive abilities: If you are out of range of an ability that boosts or heals you or your fellow players, your character will automatically run to where the ability can be used.
Left mouse button to run: If you don’t want to use WASD to move around, you can simply do so with a left click.
Set out traps: Under “Gameplay”, then “Controls” you can set that you cannot accidentally fall down from a height. However, you can still jump down. Important to note: This setting is overwritten by the auto-movement.
Visual effects
Then there are some visual effects that you can change:
Camera shake: You can simply turn off the fact that the camera sometimes shakes under “Gameplay”, then “Camera”. If necessary, you can simply turn down the intensity.
Photosensitivity: The Accessibility settings are particularly important for people who are sensitive to strong visual effects. You can adjust the photo sensitivity under “Screen”. The other settings under this tab are also very helpful.
