Shortly before the start of the early access phase, the developers of Path of Exile 2 presented the twelve Ascendancy classes that you can play in the pre-release version of PoE2.

What are Ascendancy Classes? These were already there in the first Path of Exile and they allow you to specialize your class by following the path of an Ascendancy. The duelist can become a slayer, gladiator or champion. Almost all PoE classes have three specializations.

However, when the early access version of Path of Exile 2 starts on December 6, 2024, only six of the twelve planned classes will be available to you. The developers of the game have now revealed which Ascendancies can be upgraded to (via pathofexile.com).

The Ascendancies of the Sorceress

  • Stormweaver: Can influence the weather and summon an elemental storm.
  • Chronomancer: Manipulates time to complete cooldowns early, freeze enemies, and teleport to locations visited in the past.

    • Warrior’s Ascendancies

  • titanium: Titans have increased armor and health points, can carry more due to their strength and cause the earth to shake with their attacks.
  • Warbringer: These warriors summon spirit minions via totems, protect themselves with a jade effect and a strong shield, and can activate a type of corpse explosion.

    • The Ranger’s Ascendancies

  • Deadeye: The mobile sniper operates from a distance and causes extremely high damage to marked targets with his projectiles.
  • Pathfinder: This hunter brews flasks that deal different types of damage, and his poisons are particularly toxic.

    The Ascendancies of the Witch

  • Blood Mage: The Blood Mage drinks the blood of her enemies to heal herself. She also uses curses that never expire.
  • Infernalist: The pyromancer can transform into a demon, summon an infernal hound and cast particularly powerful fire spells.

    • The Ascendancies of the Mercenary

  • Witchhunter: The Witch Hunter disrupts the concentration of his victims, causing enormous damage. He can also activate an absorption effect that intercepts enemy magic.
  • Gemling Legionnaire: The Legionnaire enjoys strong bonuses to skills, gems and various attributes.

    • The Ascendancies of Monk

  • Invoker: Through meditation, the Invoker can build up an energy shield and even overload it to briefly gain double protection. He can also unleash his elemental powers to overwhelm all enemies.
  • Acolyte of Chayula: This fighter targets his enemies’ mana, which can even be used to recharge his energy shield. He can also summon useful flames and deal additional chaos damage.

    • Just like in its predecessor, the classes in Path of Exile 2 are predefined characters that can hardly be adjusted. For example, you cannot change the default gender again.
