By March 2022, four new MMORPGs had already appeared in the West. We at MeinMMO reveal what makes these online role-playing games special, for whom they are interesting and how they are doing at the moment.

What are these MMORPGs? In this list you will find games that were released in 2022. However, they must have had a full release or an Early Access release. We did not include titles in an alpha or beta.

Chimeraland

What kind of game is this? Chimeraland is a new sandbox MMORPG in which you can take on the role of both humans and various animal creatures. Chimeraland does without classes, but lets you define the playstyle through your equipment.

  • There is an open game world with 4 continents without loading screens, which is graphically reminiscent of Genshin Impact
  • There are collection and crafting systems that you can use to level up actively, just like in New World
  • You can build your own house anywhere in the open world
  • You can tame your animal companions and pets in the open world
  • You can sprint with Shift and jump with Spacebar
  • There is various PvE and PvP content in the endgame
  • There is a real money shop with cosmetic content, XP buff, crates with materials and automatic completion of daily quests, in addition to a purchasable Battle Pass

    • So far, the MMORPG has officially only appeared in Malaysia. Accordingly, the mobile version has a region lock. However, the download on the PC works without any problems, although the ping is a bit high due to the server location.

    Chimeraland convinces as a character editor, seems unfinished

    What is so special about that? Chimeraland convinces above all with its crazy character editor. There you can play shark, bird or rhino people. You can also basically change everything about your body with the help of sliders and thus create the ugliest character of all MMORPGs.

    Another highlight is the breeding and breeding system. Because you can crossbreed different animal species with each other and thus also breed scary creatures as mounts or pets.

    How’s it going since the release? Chimeraland is struggling with a few issues, including performance and a fairly empty game world. In general, the MMORPG still seems totally unfinished and not of particularly high quality.

    The only fun things about the game are the character editor, breeding system and free building in the open world.

    Since the MMORPG has not yet officially appeared in the West, there is no information about the number of players or the success of Chimeraland. However, the developers bring regular updates and have opened two new servers since the release, which are still only in Southeast Asia.

    The release of Chimeraland should take place in the west in summer 2022.

    Who is it interesting for? If you’re looking for a sandbox MMORPG with housing and a crazy character editor, check out Chimeraland, it’s Free2Play after all. But you shouldn’t expect a high-quality MMORPG on the level of Black Desert or ArcheAge.

    The game is more suitable for a few fun hours with friends experimenting with the systems, but less as a new main MMORPG intended to replace WoW or FFXIV.
