Want to go in the sun as soon as possible, summer is not always the season during which you take the most care of your hygiene. Be careful: if you neglect it too much, you risk health problems. On TikTok, an American doctor Dr Jen Caudle points out the 5 areas that we tend to forget to wash in the shower.

Do you think that these few minutes spent in the shower are enough to have impeccable hygiene? Not sure, especially since like many, you may have neglected certain parts of the body. The American star doctor lists these areas not to be forgotten!

    Navel

And yes, your belly button should be cleaned regularly. And few people do! However, dirt can then accumulate there and promote infections. Two tips for this area, clean gently with a cotton swab and take care to dry it after the shower.

    behind the ears

While many of us spend a lot of time using cotton swabs (most often incorrectly), few take enough time to properly wash the back and top and bottom of the ear. How do you know if you are doing it regularly enough? “Run your fingers over these areas and check if they give off a peculiar smell afterward… If so, then you haven’t washed them recently“advises Dr Caudle.

    Under the nails

It is in this area that a lot of debris and dirt can accumulate and thus transmit infections (especially for those who bite their nails). If the Covid epidemic had encouraged us not to neglect the hygiene of our hands and our nails, these good habits disappeared too quickly. So do not neglect this area and do not hesitate to use a brush for a better result.

    Legs

Not just run the soap down the legs, but really wash your legs“says Dr. Caudle. It is indeed important to rub your legs with soap to remove dirt but also to remove dead skin.

    Between the toes

Going down lower, Dr. Caudle finally insists on cleaning his toes well and particularly the space between the toes. With these high temperatures, perspiration can promote maceration, which generates bacterial and mycotic infections. So to avoid it, wash your feet and toes properly and remember to dry them properly with a towel.
