A look at the best series of 2024 makes it clear that last year only had a few highlights for science fiction fans. That will change suddenly in 2025, genre fans can expect a huge range of sci-fi novelties on Netflix, Amazon, Disney+ and Co.
In addition to interesting new releases about aliens, apocalypses and killer robots, popular franchises such as Star Trek, Star Wars, Alien and even Blade Runner are also returning with exciting sequels (and prequels). 1. The Alien series brings sci-fi horror to Earth

The Peacock project was able to secure Melissa Barrera (Scream and Scream VI) for the second leading role.
5. Netflix wants to make you forget the apocalypse in the luxury bunker
After Money Heist and its Berlin prequel, the authors Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato move on to El refuge atómico from the heist to the sci-fi genre and takes you into the enormous halls of a luxury bunker into which the Spanish elite took refuge during the Third World War. We can expect a socially critical end-time drama in which billionaire families enjoy the amenities of restaurants, gardens and spas, while the escalating horror of the surface can be seen on large screens.
6. Comic film about aliens and a frosty apocalypse
With Eternauta A science fiction series from Argentina awaits us on Netflix. 8. Murderbot opens a killer bot’s diary
The sci-fi series will be exciting and funny at the same time Murderbot. Based on Martha Wells’ acclaimed Diary of a Killer Bot series, the Apple production transforms Alexander Skarsgård into a security android who must break free from the control of a futuristic mega-corporation and keep his newfound self-confidence secret. 10. Star Trek opens Starfleet Academy in 2025
