Where does the data come from? The English-language magazine Techcrunch.com requested the data from the company Appfigures.com. The company evaluated data from people in the USA who are currently between 18 and 24 years old. Data on younger people should not be released.
The data is therefore not identical to figures in Europe, but usually gives a good trend for the use of certain apps and products. Because cell phones determine the lives of Gen Z and also millennials.

What is the most downloaded app? By far the most frequently downloaded app is the Chinese shop “Temu”: the app has been downloaded almost 42 million times. The pressure from Temu is so great that even the giant Amazon has now launched its own cheap alternative: Amazon Haul. So far, the alternative is only available exclusively in the USA.
The video platform TikTok follows in second place with 33.23 million downloads. The platform, which belongs to the Chinese company ByteDance, has long been controversial in the USA and Europe. Finally in third place is the Twitter and X-Alternative Threads from Facebook Group Meta.
