Therese Lindgren quits YouTube

Therese Lindgren is shutting down her YouTube channel and will instead dedicate herself to helping animals full-time.

– I have worked with YouTube for ten years. But I can’t stifle the passion I feel for animal welfare. Now I have to focus on that, she tells TT.

Therese Lindgren is in the process of founding her own foundation, where organizations that work with animal welfare will be able to apply for funds for their activities. Therese Lindgren donates five million kroner from her own capital to the Swedish Animal Fund.

– I can imagine that many people will perhaps be surprised that I am leaving a YouTube channel that still has so many views. It is my biggest source of income and I choose to turn it down, she says.

Last video

The video that Therése Lindgren publishes in connection with the announcement will be the last on the YouTube account with over a million subscribers.

TT: How do you think the followers will react?

– I think some will find it sad and sad. I know many people look forward to my videos on Sundays. But hopefully the vast majority of people think it’s fun that I’m starting a new chapter in my life.

Educate oneself

The Swedish Animal Fund has already decided to support three causes: WWF and the Swedish Mountain Rävsprojektet, Stockholms Vildfågel Rehab and Kattjouren with SEK 100,000 each.

In addition to the work with the foundation, which will be Therése Lindgren’s main job in addition to her Instagram account, where she continues as an influencer, she is considering training as a wildlife rehabilitator.

– It has been a dream to be able to work more tangibly with animals. Today, I am an on-call shelter for animals that need to be relocated and volunteer for several different organizations. This foundation will be a first step on the journey towards working more with philanthropy and charity.
