Johaug was supposed to take a competitive break after the World Cup in Davos and return to the games in January in the Norwegian championships, but after the surprise loss in Davos, he has decided to participate in the Tour de Ski tour, which is contested on both sides of the turn of the year.
Johaug already said in an interview with last weekend that he was thinking about participating in the Tour. According to him, it is a good thing that the Tour is now held in only one country, Italy, and in only two locations.
On Tuesday, the Norwegian Ski Federation also listed Tour in the team Johannes Hösflot Kläbon.
Kläbo considered taking part in the tough start of the seven races due to his health concerns, but finally decided to accept the challenge.
The most significant omission in the Norwegian team is the sprint star Kristine Stavås Skistadwho had abdominal surgery on the eve of the competition season.
The Tour de Ski will be skied from December 28 to December 5. January in Toblach and Val di Fiemme, Italy:
