Sweden enters another weekend filled with competitions from the World Cup, this time from Davos, Switzerland.
Injured squad in Davos
Something that stands out when it comes to this weekend’s World Cup in Davos is the amount of underdogs that find their way into the squad. But how does that happen? The number of illnesses in the Swedish team opens the door for several Swedes who are not usually involved.
The squad looks like this:

Gentlemen:
The big stars are missing
Those who miss this weekend’s competitions are Frida Karlsson, Ebba Andersson, Lynn Svahn, Calle Halfvarsson, Måns Skoglund and Moa Lundgren.
Someone who has had a tough start to the season as a result of a back injury is Calle Halfvarsson. The national team doctor Richard Noberius says the following in a statement from the Swedish Skiing Association.

“It is a disk that is affected, and which in turn irritates the nerve root”
“The prognosis looks promising, and with rehabilitation, Calle could be ready for competition in the near future.”
Only three riders will start in the women’s 20 kilometer classic on Sunday. It gets the Norwegian big star Therese Johaug to react, she comments on it i The Express.
– I know that Sweden has an insanely strong women’s team and a lot of girls who ski fast. The fact that only three will start here… that’s not good. I really have to say that. It really doesn’t look good.
She continues:
– I remembered when Norway lacked a skater in the 10 kilometer classic during an Olympics. Then I was ashamed.
She is asked if she thinks Sweden should be ashamed.
– Yes. It must be possible to find girls who want to go here.
