Therese Johaug is celebrating a victory in the World Cup after a break of almost three years.
Norwegian Therese Johaug took his first World Cup win in Lillehammer after his return. Johaug won the ten kilometer free intermediate start race before Heidi Weng.
The 36-year-old Johaug had reached the first podium in the World Cup last time in March 2022. Last week at the mc opening in Ruka, he was second and fourth.
Although Johaug was superior, Weng also had a strong bet. After the halfway point of the race, he was ten seconds away from his world record. However, Johaug eventually won by a neck of 11.4 seconds.
Astrid Øyre Slind completed Norway’s celebrations with his third farm. For Norwegian women, a triple win has been a rare treat in recent years. Swedish Frida Karlsson was fourth in the race. He was 46 seconds behind the winner.
