For those not well versed in the hypercar arena, Bugatti is the maker of some of the world’s fastest cars.

Their (outgoing) flagship model is spelled Chiron and holds the unofficial top speed world record for production cars at a whopping 300 miles per hour.

A total of 300 cars have been produced – all of which are sold out – and where the base price was a breathtaking SEK 30 million. Since 2020, they have had a collaboration with the watch manufacturer Jacob & Co whose watches are seemingly hideous, but are mechanically very impressive.

A mega-expensive entry fee

Jacob & Co offers a Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon which can therefore only be purchased by Bugatti customers who have actually bought a Chiron.

They have been produced in a series of editions with the first appearing in 2020 in an edition of seven watches. Among other things, the movement consists of a miniature version of the Chiron’s famous W16 engine.

The result is a watch that is as advanced as it is expensive.

Expensive, more expensive, most expensive

The last watch launched appeared in 2022 and was limited to a single watch.

The name of the watch is Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon Blue Sapphire.

The miniature version of the W16 engine has 16 working pistons and a moving turbocharger. One drawback is that there are only two turbochargers in the clockwork, while the Chiron de facto has four.

The watch is blue with touches of rose gold, while the case is a full 57.8 mm, which means that it can only be worn by people like Dolph Lundgren and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The world’s most expensive new watch?

In order to be able to buy the watch in question, it is partly necessary to have bought a Chiron, which therefore starts at 30 million kroner. In addition, you get a bonus of 1.5 million dollars, corresponding to 15.9 million kroner for the watch itself.

In other words, you have to shell out at least 45.9 million to get your hands on the watch, making it one of the most expensive new watches.
