Last week, Per Eriksson chose to quit “The Farm” the day after he became a big farmer. Now another big farmer is jumping off the program. After sitting at the post during the week, Yorgo Skulis leaves Farmen on Sunday, with the reason that he suffers from a toothache, he says in the program.
Now he tells us more about the decision to go home.
– I landed in it because I was in so much pain, it was not possible to finish. What they didn’t find out during the two weeks I was there was that after two days I went on penicillin because of all the animal bites. Strong penicillin and no food don’t make you feel completely well, and then I bit my tooth, says Yorgo.
– One day I could barely open my eyes. I slept an hour a night because of this, it itched and bled. I was quite exposed among the animals, you can’t see that at all. One day I was stung by five wasps at the same time, that was almost the final straw, he continues.
And it got more difficult when the other participants were on him about it, he says.
– It also became difficult when others said “what the hell do you look like?” You can’t look like that!”.
Was offered care – but didn’t want to take it
The production offered him dental care, something he chose not to accept.
– Dentists and I are not friends if you say so, I needed to be safe when I was going to do it. They offered care in Jönköping but I felt I had to do it at home. I received help but was not willing to take it, he says.
He felt ready when he left, and considering how the reactions have been during the time the show has been on the air, he’s glad he didn’t stay longer than he did.
– Now in retrospect, I don’t think that these two weeks that I was with have been filmed well, they have clearly chosen what they want to show. I think it’s really bad style how they chose to angle it. We have to defend ourselves a lot around bullying, says Yorgo.
– I work in the school world, it doesn’t suit. There was no bullying in Farmen, it is angled towards being mean, he continues.
But despite a difficult time on the farm, he thinks that the time on the farm met his expectations, except for the work on the farm.
– I was surprised that there was so much work, I didn’t think so. What doesn’t come across is that I made breakfast for everyone every day. I got up at 4 every morning, made breakfast and then it was work until you went to bed.
Stream The Farm
Far from modernities, the participants live as farmers did in the 19th century. At the same time, they fight in a fierce competition with tactics and rascally games.
