Recently, six TV4 programs have been put on hold.
The reason is a mixture of less linear viewing and a new investment in TV4 Play.
– We have to make room for completely new programs and then some programs need to be left behind, says Fredrik Arefalk, channel & content director at TV4
The TV4 programs Karl Fredrik på Österlen, Let’s dance, Talang, Wild kids and Biggest loser have all been put on hold.
On Friday afternoon came the next message: Even the popular long-distance runner Parliament is taking a break.
Channel director Fredrik Arefalk explains that it is connected with a new investment at TV4 Play.
– We have just launched the new TV4 Play, where we now also have C More’s fantastic content in one and the same service, which means that TV4 has a larger and wider range of content than ever before. We will continue to build our position based on our Swedish content with everything from Nyheterna, Nyhetsmorgon and Efter fem to our major entertainment and reality programs such as Sweden’s Master Chef, Masked Singer and Farmer Seeks Wife, says Fredrik Arefalk.
– Linear viewing has declined for many years and with a TV4 Play that is larger and richer in content, we are now shifting into a higher gear to grow faster digitally. Of course, we also have to make room for completely new programs and then some programs have to be left behind, he continues.
Fredrik Arefalk also makes a promise to TV4’s many viewers.
– In any case, I can promise that the TV viewers – regardless of whether they watch linearly or on TV4 Play – will recognize themselves next year as well, says the channel director.
It is currently unclear if, when and which programs will return to the box again.
