When the Hisingsbron in Gothenburg got stuck in a partially open position in March, about a hundred people jumped over to the other side. Now the reason for the stop has been found, reports Sveriges Radio.
Actually, the part of the bridge that is lifted should stop when the weight reaches a certain limit value, as a safety stop. But a programming in the motors that lift the bridge was incorrect.
– The limit value was far too low. Therefore, the bridge stopped at a load that was much lower than what it can actually handle, says Axel Wannerskog of the City of Gothenburg to SR and adds:
– It is the human factor. Something has happened in the code knocking.
Since April, the error has been fixed.
