Bake My Day is a confectionery company that bakes bread and pastries from scratch in its bakery in Huddinge, south of Stockholm.
All pastries are made in the bakery in Huddinge
Everything that is baked in the bakery is baked without unnecessary additives, with Swedish grain, Swedish butter, Swedish cream and eggs from Swedish free-range chickens, the patisserie writes on its own website.
The bakery has collaborations with most of the big food giants and sells its pastries, cakes and bread in the various food stores.
Those who want can also place online orders for coffee for their office or party and receive the baked goods the very next day.

Bake My Days mislabeled packaging
Several customers have now noticed that Bake My Day states that their two-pack of Black Forest pastries are lactose-free, even though they contain lactose according to the ingredients list.
The pastries contain, among other things, lactose-free cream, but also whey powder and buttermilk powder, which are not lactose-free.
It also does not say that lactase enzyme was added, which could make the whey powder and buttermilk powder edible for lactose intolerant people.

According to The Swedish Food Agency must tell customers what a food contains through the mandatory list of ingredients. In the list of contents, allergenic ingredients must also appear.
If a company chooses to label a food as “free from” a certain allergen, it must be able to ensure that the food is really free from the allergen, so that it is safe for those who cannot tolerate it.
In order for a food to be labeled “free from lactose”, the Swedish Food Agency recommends a limit of 0.01 grams per 100 grams.
If a food product does not meet the requirements to be “free from” an allergen, the product must not be sold with that label, writes The Swedish Food Agency on its website.

Bake My Days VP: “Contains lactose”
When News24 gets in touch with Bake My Day’s product manager Daniel Granholm he states that the bakery’s Black Forest pastries contain lactose, but a very low amount.
– Our Black Forest pastries contain lactose. However, the amount is so low that, according to the Swedish Food Agency, it can be labeled as lactose-free. That limit is 0.01 grams. Our pastry contains a total of 0.003 grams. So that’s why it’s labeled lactose-free, says Daniel Granholm and continues:
– Maybe we should be clearer on the packaging with this going forward. I will look into this to see if it might be possible to have some kind of explanation in the list of ingredients on this.
