The Norwegian twin duo Marcus & Martinus – whose real names are Marcus Gunnarsen and Martinus Gunnarsen – won the songbird in Melodifestivalen 2024 and thus also became Sweden’s representatives in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.
In connection with the victory, the twins thanked their father Kjell-Erik Gunnarsen for all he has done for them and in an interview with The evening paper he himself expressed his joy at the win.
– I am completely exhausted. We have worked together for so many years and I do everything for them to be successful. That they won today and received so many votes from the Swedish people is incredible. Our hearts are half Norwegian and half Swedish.
Father Kjell-Erik has accompanied his sons on their travels and concerts since they started playing music at the age of ten.

But Marcus & Martinu’s mother Gerd Anne Gunnarsen has been seen all the less over the years. However, there is a simple explanation for this.
According to Aftonbladet, this is partly because she is at home in Norway with the twins’ 15-year-old little sister Emma Gunnarsenpartly because she has a full-time job at an airline.

However, in connection with the final of Melodifestivalen 2024, Gerd Anne made it to Sweden to see Marcus & Martinus live.
