The Green Party member of parliament Elin Söderberg resigns after she “acted inappropriately”.

According to sources in the party, the top MP should have made unwelcome advances during a wet after-party at the party’s municipal and regional days.

– Her judgment has broken, says a source in the party.

The announcement came unexpectedly on Thursday. Elin Söderberg, climate policy spokesperson for the Green Party, resigns her seat in the Riksdag.

According to the party’s group leader in the Riksdag, Annika Hirvonen, Söderberg allegedly behaved inappropriately at an after party during MP’s municipal and regional days held in Borås in mid-November.

– We will not go into details about what has happened out of respect for everyone involved, says Annika Hirvonen to Aftonbladet.

Sources with access to the party tell Aftonbladet that Elin Söderberg must have made “unwelcome approaches” during the after-party, which is described as “wet”.

– There was a lot of alcohol at the party and her judgment broke, says a source.

Elin Söderberg has sat on the Riksdag’s business committee and in 2020 she ran for spokesperson for the party.

Aftonbladet is looking for Elin Söderberg for an interview.
