There Will Be No FPS Limit in Dragon’s Dogma 2

It has been announced that there will be no FPS limit on consoles for the long-awaited Capcom’s fantasy RPG game Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Dragon’s Dogma 2There is very little time left until the release of . The game will be released for Playstation 5, Xbox Series consoles and PC on March 22. While there is so little time left for the game’s release, a very interesting announcement came from the game’s director, Hideaki Itsuno, and he shared on his Twitter account that there will be no FPS limit for consoles in the game.

There Will Be No FPS Limit in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Interestingly, we have identified the lack of FPS limit with the PC until now, and until the last generation consoles, 30 FPS became the standard, and 60 FPS became the standard in the Playstation Pro model and today’s consoles. While what comes to mind when talking about consoles is playing the game with constant FPS and average graphics, it is a matter of curiosity what effect Dragon’s Dogma 2 will try on the game world.

However, another question that comes to mind is whether there will be a graphics settings option if there is no FPS limit in the game. In an interview with Gameinformer, Itsuno said that there will be no graphics settings in the game, or even a performance-quality setting like Final Fantasy VII Rebirt recently did. In short, the game is preparing to bring unlimited FPS as a standard setting. Itsuno added that they will aim to go above 30 FPS and that there will be a few settings that can be turned on and off, although they are not detailed.

While I personally believe that if the production team succeeds in this, it is likely to create a revolution in the industry, we will be eagerly awaiting the comments the game will receive in case of failure or optimization problems.

So, do you think having no FPS limit on consoles could become an industry standard?
