With the recent activity in Hasakah, it was claimed that the USA would establish a base in Ayn al-Arab. It was suggested that the building, which was formerly the Kinim Hotel and is now known as the student dormitory, would be the base headquarters.
THE MILITARY CONVOY WAS MOVING
A military convoy carrying logistics materials, fuel, briquette rooms, work machines and ready-mixed concrete walls, moving from the US base in Hasakah, was observed moving to the eastern countryside of Aleppo on the M-4 road. Apart from this, according to some unofficial sources, it was also claimed that there would be observation points at Sirrin, Tishrin Dam and 2 points.
According to the information provided by CNN Turk Washington Representative Yunus Paksoy, a statement was made by the Pentagon on the subject. Pentagon Spokesperson Sabrina Singh stated that the claims that the USA established a base in Ayn al-Arab do not reflect the truth. Singh stated that the USA has no such intention. Singh underlined that they are focused on the fight against ISIS, but there is no such thing as establishing a base.
Paksoy, who reported the latest developments in the CNN Turk live broadcast, said, “We are not establishing any base in Ayn al-Arab, I do not know where these news come from,” said the Pentagon Spokesperson. Also, when asked another question, he said, “I have seen some news on this issue.” “And it was asked before in this meeting, I do not have any information that US forces have established an entire base or presence. This is not true, we do not have any such plans,” the Pentagon said.
