News agency AFP says that the plane was on its way from Katowice, Poland to Athens, Greece, when it received a bomb threat.

According to the Greek media, Hungarian fighter jets also took off when the bomb threat was reported.

There were 192 people on the flight.

The plane landed at Athens International Airport after five o’clock local time.

According to the Greek news agency ANA, the evacuation of people began immediately. Bomb disposal officers were also called to the scene.

The authorities have not given details on whether the person making the bomb threat has been arrested.
