Some of the games planned to be released in the coming period may be postponed depending on the possible release dates of the new generation game consoles.
A problem we experienced in previous generation game consoles threatened the games that will be released this year. This situation, which we encountered in the transition from PlayStation 4 to PS4 Pro, may also be waiting for us before the new generation Xbox and PS5 Pro.
New Generation Consoles May Cause Delays in Games
During the transition from PlayStation 4 to PS4 Pro, the release dates of some games were postponed. PS4 Pro was released in November 2016, during which time developers tried to update their games to accommodate the higher performance capabilities of the new console.
For example, The Last Guardian. It was first announced for PS3 and was delayed several times. It was finally released in December 2016, close to the launch of the PS4 Pro. The postponement of the game was associated with the difficulties in the development process and the desire to maximize the graphical capabilities of the new console.
The same was true for Final Fantasy XV. While it was planned to be released in November 2016, the developers postponed the game’s release to the end of November in order to work more on the visuals and take full advantage of the features of the PS4 Pro.
Although we have not yet encountered a delay due to the release of improved consoles, it is quite likely that such developments are waiting for us in the coming period.
