Mysterious hepatitis is causing tension in the world and in our country. Serious consequences are emerging in the increasing number of mysterious hepatitis cases. Causes of mysterious hepatitis are being investigated. Working with the World Health Organization’s Global Hepatitis Program, Dr. Philippa Easterbrook announced that as of May 1, there were 228 possible cases related to the epidemic in 20 countries, and more than 50 cases were investigated. In the USA, 5 children died due to the mysterious hepatitis case seen in more than 100 children in 25 states. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that they are investigating the cause of the cases.
THE POSSIBILITY OF CONTACT FROM PETS IS BEING RESEARCHED
CDC’s deputy director for infectious diseases, Dr. Jay Butler stated that they are investigating “the possibility of transmission from pets”. Butler said that since October 2021, 94% of children who complained of cases of unknown hepatitis had been hospitalized and 14% needed a liver transplant. The CDC official urged doctors and public health officials to report if there were any similar cases of children under the age of 10 with elevated liver enzymes.
ATTENTION TO THESE SYMPTOMS
Symptoms such as fatigue, loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, dark-colored urine, light-colored stools, and yellowing of their skin and eyes are seen in most children with the disease.
