In Pokémon GO there seems to be a big problem in the battle league: an exploit is intended to distribute information about what the opponent is using for a team. That would be a huge advantage for cheaters.
What is Battle League? The Battle League represents PvP in Pokémon GO. Players use a team of three monsters to defeat the opponent.
An important factor is the composition of the team and the reaction to the opponent’s monsters. Since you don’t know what your opponent is using, you have to react quickly.
But apparently cheaters have found a way to get information in battle that can give them a decisive advantage.
Discord bot is supposed to reveal team information in the battle league
What is the problem? Content creator PokeAK reports in a video that he received a tip from a previously unnamed source in the community about the problem. As a result, there is apparently a Discord bot that allows cheaters to see the entire team and the opposing coach’s attacks as soon as the match starts.
In a private match, PokeAK shows what this looks like. It can be seen there that the information comes directly via Discord as soon as the match has started.

There are no further videos of evidence or an official reaction from Niantic to the problem yet and it remains to be seen what exactly is behind it.
However, the video is making waves, and other members of the community, such as the YouTuber ZyoniK, the Pokémon GO Hub site and PvP expert JRESeawolf (via Twitter) have also taken up the problem.
ZyoniK emphasizes that he wants to spread the word to bring attention to the problem and hopes for a solution. You can find his assessment here:
What’s the advantage anyway? You can no longer customize your own team once the match has started. In this respect, you cannot bring perfect counterattacks into your team once you know what the opponent is sending into the fight.
However, one of the most important skills in Pokémon GO PvP is retrieving information. This also includes, for example, anticipating further Pokémon, for example when you see which monster is your opponent’s first.
The exploit can help a lot: If you know what kind of monsters your opponent has, what attacks they use, how much energy they need, how much damage you can do with them – then it is possible to skillfully swap Pokémon in battle to get advantage.
So far there is no official reaction from Niantic on the matter. As soon as there is further information on the topic, we will keep you updated here.
Aside from the PvP league, Pokémon GO has just started its new season and has introduced some new Pokémon and started events. Now the next event has been announced: In a week, the focus will be on monsters like Shiny-Monocyto, Mega-Guardevoir and Unown, because that’s when the psychological spectacle starts in Pokémon GO.
