The premiere episode of The Farm 2025 has gone off the rails and I don’t even know where to start.
I’ve always liked The Farm and watched probably seven or eight seasons of the show and actually never been disappointed. There is really something special when you cast ordinary “folk” from all corners of Sweden. It feels more authentic than programs with celebrities or people who have been on TV before.
Over the years, you have seen both one and the other. People have been fighting and throwing porridge at each other. Threats to “break na’s necks” have had participants thrown out, some have gone around naked and they’ve been midsummer parties that have gone completely off the rails.
But this year we got to see something completely new.

To begin with, the casting this year is genius. There are emotional people after emotional people who you see have a stub as long as an elevator button and very many who “don’t take any shit”.
A soooo clear favorite from day one is of course Jesper Dragunowicz. “Oh, it was early before you even saw how they work in groups” you might think, but there is nothing this person can do to make me like him less. He’s the kind of person who would get away with falling into one’s glass cabinet at a New Year’s party even though one’s grandmother’s old orrefors glass was in ruins all over the floor.
“You, it’s cow-calm. It’s only material things”.
If it had been someone else, they would have been necked on the spot and demanded compensation for every single glass.

Someone who also seems to be a bag of fun is Robert Nilsson. This is a very special chanterelle in which you can never really tell if he is being ironic or serious, but that makes damn good television.
But now… now we’ll get to the important part here. The thing that made me stand up on the couch and scream “IT CAN’T BE TRUE!??!”.
It’s because the geniuses at TV4….. this year…. have sent in an ex-couple.
Peter Rönnlund is a very special point which you notice quite quickly. He simply feels special. Through the window he sees the farm’s pudding, Alida Kanthewhich is then his good ex.
Their breakup is as fresh as freshly baked bread. Things are not healed and it is definitely not a good atmosphere.

What we learn is that it has been about a year and a half since they broke up and in Peter’s presentation video it is clearly seen that he has a new girlfriend. So laid on the lazy side when it comes to meeting someone new… he hasn’t. When exactly they met… it is not clear.
When he trudges down to Alida in the yard with his head down, you can see in her eyes how sad, angry and hurt she is. You can see that it feels like she is having acid poured over her chest. Peter asks if she wants to talk and she says no. When he then leaves, she bursts into tears and is comforted by two other girls on the farm.

I know I’m a witch who lives at the bottom of hell. But, while I’m suffering so incredibly with Alida, I can’t help but feel pure euphoria at how fantastic television this is.
And it certainly doesn’t stop here either.
It is because the ironic farrier Robert has caught the eye of Alida and feels that he will try to test his luck in the future.

– Alida… I think she is a little interested. I get that feeling anyway. We’ll see… maybe a hug or two… who knows.
The day is here. The day we’ve all been waiting for. The farm has now got a hint of the sex/scandal soap Ex on the beach in it – and you can’t help but love… how will this really end?
It’s hard to explain what it is that you like about this, but you can say that it’s a stew that’s already good, but then you add a little more stock and it suddenly becomes perfect.
Thank you TV4.
