There are changes at Bouygues Telecom, which is reviewing its fiber offers! Customers can now benefit from higher speeds, but in return the operator is increasing its prices by 2 euros.
There are changes at Bouygues Telecom at the moment! The operator is in the process of reorganizing its services, which has led to the elimination of its prepaid offers, the deployment of 5G for all its mobile customers and the arrival of an AI-powered chatbot. The fact remains that, in terms of subscription prices, the trend has remained towards successive increases for several years now.
Last January, Bouygues Telecom increased its mobile and Internet subscriptions, with up to €4 more per month and per package, justifying this by needs linked to maintaining quality and changing uses, before doing it again in April for Bbox, Fiber or ADSL subscriptions (see our article). This October, the operator is once again increasing the price of some of its fiber offers. To make the pill pass, however, he decided to increase the flow rates.
Bouygues Telecom: increases of 2 euros for better speed
The first change concerns the Bbox fit, the entry-level formula, and it is good news. It now allows you to benefit from 600 Mbit/s in reception and sending, compared to 400 Mbit/s previously. The rest of the offer remains the same, you have to make do with Wi-Fi 5 and give up on the TV decoder and the B.tv application. On the other hand, the price does not change and remains at €19.99 per month for the first year then at €32.99 per month thereafter.
Users with greater needs can turn to the Bbox must, which also benefits from a speed gain. It thus increases to a reception rate of 2 Gbit/s, compared to 1 Gbit/s previously, while the upstream rate increases from 700 Mbit/s to 900 Mbit/s. A nice improvement which unfortunately has an impact on the price, which increases by €2, going to €34.99 per month for the first year then to €41.99 per month. Note that this offer includes a Wi-Fi 6 box and a 4K decoder.
Finally, the Bbox Ultym formula has an even more impressive speed with a download speed which goes from 2 Gbit/s to 8 Gbit/s, four times more than the old offer. For its part, data sending increases to 1 Gbit/s, compared to 900 Mbit/s previously. Here again, the price increases by €2, to reach €42.99 per month for the first year, then €49.99 per month. This offer always includes a Wi-Fi 6E box, repeaters on request, and a 4K HDR decoder.
With these increases, Bouygues Telecom aligns its offers with those of its competitors SFR and Free, which have also increased their speeds while revising their prices. This change comes as the operator has just launched its new B.iG offer, which allows families to combine a fixed Internet connection and mobile lines in order to benefit from advantageous decreasing rates.
