Yesterday was the premiere of the new season of Fångarna på foret. In the season premiere was the cross-country skier Anders Södergren45, with and competed alongside Daniel Paris and Margaux Dietz.
He was tasked with retrieving a key in a pitch black space, something that ended badly. After only a few seconds in the room, he fell headlong forward and hit his face on the sharp edge of a Plexiglas box.
Despite the accident, he continued and managed to complete the task. Afterwards, it was clear that he had received a serious jab on the chin, which required medical attention.
– It didn’t look so good, if you say so. So I was a little less. I didn’t think it was that bad. I thought it was like a swollen pork lip, but it was much worse than that, says Anders Södergren to The evening paper.
Now Anders Södergren criticizes TV4
– It is life-threatening when it is pitch black. You have no references where to receive or anything. If there are things in the way then you have to say so. Or you shouldn’t have carbon black if there are things in the way, because it is life-threatening, he tells Aftonbladet.
The program shows him being led away from Fort Boyard with his face bandaged. He was then taken to the hospital and had to have 13 stitches in two layers as the wound was so deep. He still has a “pretty big” scar on his chin, but is still glad it didn’t get any worse.
– I was still lucky in the bad luck. If you think that it took the temple, then you would have died. Or if it caught your eye. It’s life-threatening. So I’m quite pleased that I did so well anyway. That room felt a little ill-conceived. I was a bit bitter about it actually, he tells the newspaper.
Anders Södergren: “Poorly done”
Anders Södergren says that he thought it was poorly done and that the presenter Gunde Swan agreed. After the accident there were changes and they put in a light that blinked and lit every two seconds. The sharp corner was padded, Anders Södergren tells the newspaper.
TV4 has accepted the criticism and Jonathan Nordinexecutive producer at TV4, says in a statement to the newspaper that they have taken measures to increase security.
