Common greeting phrases such as merry Christmas, happy continuation and happy ending are used every now and then around Christmas time. But it is not entirely easy to know if the greetings are used correctly, which can create confusion.

Then stop saying “Merry Christmas”
“Good Christmas” is of course most often used in December. But when do you really stop wishing each other Merry Christmas?

When it comes to “Happy New Year” or “Happy New Year”, you can think like greetings before Christmas Eve – start a few days before and end when the evening has passed. But the New Year’s greeting can be used for a longer period of time, says Stina Vickhoff, who thinks that you can wish for good news until the thirteenth.
But a greeting phrase she raises a finger of warning.
