According to the source, it is the ruling AKP party that will present the bill in parliament.
Turkey votes on Swedish NATO membership
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s AKP party and its supporting parties have a majority of votes in parliament. They will seek parliamentary approval to ratify Sweden’s NATO membership, according to the official.
Turkey and Hungary are still the only allies in the bloc that have not yet ratified Sweden’s NATO membership. A Turkish approval could therefore leave Hungary as the last stop for the bloc’s Nordic expansion.
Sweden applied to join the military alliance after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
