With over 30 years behind it and with broadcasts every day of the year, Nyhetsmorgon has almost become like an institution in the Swedish television tableau. Program presenters have come and gone and as a result of TV4’s savings package, there has recently been a reorganization where several profiles have been forced to leave as regular presenters. Most recently it was Rania Shemoun Olsson which had to stop.

“It was too much…”
Maria Forsblom worked at TV4 news before she started as presenter at Nyhetsmorgon, which is now 11 years ago. In an interview with Happened she tells about the tough period on the news.
– The usual thing is that you run into the wall when it’s really fun, because you want to continue and give a little more, but in the end it becomes too much for what is sustainable for the body. I had some clear symptoms that I should have taken seriously, I started crying as soon as someone questioned something I did, a reasonable questioning, but I had no filter left to deal with it, she tells Hänt.

The hardest thing about working at Nymo
In the interview, she also talks about the joy of her job at Nyhetsmorgon, the early mornings and the relationship with her colleagues.
When Maria Forsblom has to host the early session, which starts at 05.45 in the morning, she gets up as early as 02.45 at night. Hänt asks if the mornings are the hardest part of the job, which she confirms. But she thinks it is compensated by the joy she gets from her work and the cohesion with her colleagues.

The presenters who hang out in private
Maria Forsblom says that she wishes to be able to hang out with everyone more than they do at the moment. But she meets some more often than others.
– All the girls have very good cohesion and we can meet at dinners and sometimes also meet with the children. Me, Sofia and Soraya have children of a similar age, so mainly Sofia and I have met with the children.

It could make Maria Forsblom quit
So far, there are no plans to quit his job. But there are two reasons why she would leave her job. She tells that when Hänt asks how long she will stay at Nyhetsmorgon.
– Good question. Now I just answer with my heart, and then I really see that I want to be on Nyhetsmorgon for a long time. There are only two reasons for not staying, and that is if you don’t have enough energy in terms of sleep or if you are not allowed to stay, that you are not doing a good job. I hope none of that comes true, she says Happened.
