The story of House of Glass in the spoiler-free short version
Emily, daughter of the foundry entrepreneur Richard Schwarz, was supposed to celebrate the happiest day of her life: the wedding with her lover Chris. The entire family (including the black sheep Felix) comes together in the parents’ house. But after an alarm, the accommodation turns into a kind of panic room. As the day progresses old wounds and secrets opened and nothing is the same anymore. These include: a kidnapping from childhood and of course the power struggle in the company.

What do the critics say about the ARD series?
The reviews are mostly positive, if not entirely euphoric. Tittelbach’s criticism states, for example:
House of Glass is a precise family study with a few thriller elements. […] The aloof milieu and the humorless circling around themselves keep the characters at a distance.
At RND the scripts are presented as “outstanding” described and the series as “excellent portrait of morals in the prison of inherited privileges” praised.
