Artificial intelligence and surveillance are among the contemporary themes of the new science fiction series Concordia – Deadly Utopia. The international co-production starts today on ZDF and is something like that “The Swarm of 2024”.
In this article you will find:
Concordia creates a sci-fi utopia that is shaken by a murder mystery
The story is set in the fictional Swedish town of Concordia, whose name already suggests the high goals of its residents. Because “Concordia” means agreement or harmony in Latin and was also the name of the Roman goddess of harmony. In the future vision, amicable coexistence in Concordia is guaranteed by comprehensive surveillance. The people in the utopian city participate in a seemingly free and fair social model in which everyone receives equal educational opportunities and all needs are taken care of.
On the anniversary of the city’s founding, people look back on the successes so proudly that the model should also be implemented in Germany. But then occurs after 20 years the first murder in the planned city. AI, which is considered safe, is hacked and manipulated. Now a team of investigators must solve the murder and close the data leak so that the plan to bring Concordia to Germany is successful. However, the team discovers secrets surrounding the founding of the utopian project.
House of the Dragon star Nanna Blondell has joined the cast of Concordia
