Then the long awaited product will return

On February 1, Coop’s members were met by several changes. Several discounts were limited from applying to an entire purchase to applying to individual products, and to collect points with the food giant it is now required that you shop for at least SEK 1,000 during a month.

Coop’s press secretary Marcus Björling then pointed out that it could look different for different stores.

“Because we are a cooperation, the respective associations have the opportunity to handle discounts a little differently.”

But one thing that is common to all Coop’s stores is that the chain has removed several types of candy.

News24 have previously written about the fact that the food chain Coop no longer sells the candy Djungelvrål. In an email, Marcus Björling wrote that it was due to Malaco’s price increase.

“Coop continues to have a wide range of small bags of candy in store and online,” he wrote to Nyheter24 at the time.

Jungle roar is not the only classic product that Coop has stopped selling. Even Kinderägg cannot be found in Coop’s stores in Sweden.

The reason is the same as in the case of Malaco: Coop considers the purchase price of the candy to be too high.

“Kinderegg was removed in the fall of 2023 when Coop considered the purchase price too high from the supplier,” writes Marcus Björling to Nyheter24.

But unlike Djungelvrål, Coop plans to take this item back.

Björling writes that Kinderägg can be expected to be back in Coop’s stores from week 20 of this year.
