“Then it’s hard to keep it together”

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

The stars leave the national ski team.
Then the biathletes decide:
– I am absolutely not worried, says coach Johannes Lukas.

It has been a few turbulent months to say the least for the Swedish national ski team. First, Linn Svahn announced that she will not be part of the national team’s training group in the future, and shortly afterwards Frida Karlsson and Maja Dahlqvist came with the same message.

The words of the biathletes

This means that Sweden has lost three of its absolute biggest stars in a short time, and no one knows how it will affect the results this winter. In any case, it is clear that the stars who remain in the national team do not have the same level to spur on anymore.

And at the same time, the turbulence has been equal to zero in the biathlon national team. There, no one – ever – has left the national team for an initiative under their own auspices. And you feel no such anxiety at all.

– I’m definitely not worried about that. From the federal side, we have a completely different approach. I play balls and talk to my active people about training arrangements, training places and how they feel, says coach Johannes Lukas to Aftonbladet.

“Followed in the carousel”

Elvira Öberg, named biathlete of the year in Sweden last year, also believes that she understands the national team’s side in the whole.

– Of course you have followed the carousel that has been. I think it’s a shame when Maja and Frida have wanted to be part of the national team in principle, but at the same time I understand the national team’s side as well. Should everyone come up with their own approach to the right and left, it is difficult to keep it together. It is a complex issue, I am very grateful that we are doing well and I am very satisfied with our agreement, says Öberg.

Elvira Öberg does not see any scenario where she herself would opt out of training in a national team environment.

– We have such incredibly good people in all positions, Johannes Lukas as coach, Jean-Marc is my shooting coach and Markus on strength training. I could not have done better myself and I am happy with the agreement with the union. I do not see that anyone would choose anything else, she says.
